What is international development finance?
-
International development finance is the highly specialized, often direct, economic investment made by a richer nation into a poorer one through the use of loans, loan guarantees, direct equity investments, and political risk insurance for private-sector led development projects, feasibility studies, and technical assistance in order to promote economic advancement.

-
The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation is America’s federal agency tasked with conducting these investments in developing and underdeveloped countries across the globe.
