Jorge Luis H Romeu

I currently serve the people of Sarasota as a Procurement Operations Associate at the Sarasota County Government. In my role, I manage the day-to-day interdepartmental procurement operations, develop process improvement projects, and administrate contracts. Additionally, I handle document archives, create training guides, process public records requests, and lead a purchasing card team.

I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Project Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. I graduated with honors from the University of Florida, specializing in political economy and international development. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, with dual minors in Statistics and Sociology, and obtained a certificate in International Relations.

I have extensive experience in legal and financial compliance at federal and local government levels. My expertise also includes operations, project management, research, data collection, and analysis through my work with nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, and private enterprises.

With my combined academic background and professional experience, I aim to find solutions to the daily obstacles faced at the intersection between government and business.

​Through my work at the federal level, I gained extensive experience evaluating, developing, and implementing process improvement projects based on organizational needs and available budget. Through my work with the DFC, I managed the compliance processing of detailed financial and legal documentation for contracts in both English and Spanish.

​

In the academic field and the private sector, I accumulated exhaustive experience in conducting detailed quantitative and qualitative research and analysis projects. Furthermore, I created several written reports and presentations on my actionable findings.

Through my work with non-profits, I managed teams in the interorganizational coordination of long-term projects including the successful execution of an international conference and the programing of several social media and fundraising campaigns.
